How can Dispotech have such efficient production while being so flexible? We are talking to Stefano Riva, factory Manager since 2014

Line automation involves less manual operator tasks, greater control during production and much more attention for end product quality; without forgetting the possibility to personalise disposable products, the Dispotech flagship product.

Dispotech has always been a truly dynamic company providing disposable products, also personalised to meet Client needs. How can Dispotech have such efficient production while being so flexible? We are talking to Stefano Riva, factory Manager since 2014.

Thanks to know-how and relations consolidated over the years as Head of Purchasing,  Stefano now coordinates the productivity of the Gordona (SO) plant, flanked by Matteo Pedroncelli, Head of programming, and Gianni Via, Head of production, who organises operators.
Stefano is not just the "mind" behind production. Thanks to collaboration with Chiara Migliori who analyses needs, he coordinates the purchasing office and has relations with the most important suppliers, coordinates factory maintenance with the technicians Renato Della Bella to plan new lines, Franco Fanti and Alessandro Paggi for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and improvement projects, and establishes the budget and expenditure priorities in agreement with Massimo Mortarotti, General Manager of Dispotech

With the Gordona plant being expanded by a new adjacent shed, Stefano is also handling the entire production line layout and automation, and is rationalising warehouse space.

Modernizing production lines means both reducing costs and valorising personnel. For Stefano, a line being automated means less manual work for operators, greater control during production and much more attention for end product quality.

“This modernisation process is involving the two main macro Dispotech lines: Dispo ICE, instant ice, and DISPO SHEET, examination sheet rolls. These lines have the most impact on production and turnover. Thanks to the planned introduction of the pick and place systems for the instant ice lines, the operator will no longer pack Dispo ICE manually but can be dedicated to supervising production and check end product quality. This same approach will be valid for the three examination sheet roll production lines”, says Stefano Riva.

With this in mind, the new shed expansion - scheduled by the end of the year - will allow Dispotech to reorganise and make the Gordona plant more functional. However, without neglecting flexibility and the chance to personalise disposable products, pride and joy of Dispotech.
